About Me

Expressions of India on Canvas

Over the period of last 17th – 18th years, I have deviated from the abstract geometric compositions to a more realistic style of painting. My current series of paintings -all acrylic on canvas –are based on the facial expressions and mudras of Indian classical dance especially Kathakali.

The vibrant green colour of a Kathakali Dancer`s face and the brightness of his eyes fascinate me. I am also attracted to the beautiful expressions of Odissi dance. I would like to portray folk dance in future. My aim is to capture the essence and colours of India through these compositions.

“I now enjoy creating to explore the depths of human emotion through painting. I am drawn to the subtle power of facial expression, especially in black and white.

1

Art as therapy

“Art is therapy for the soul, a language beyond words. It heals, calms, and reconnects us with our inner self.”

2

Art as expression

“Art is the voice of the unspoken, a canvas where emotions find form. It transforms inner feelings into colours, lines, and movement.”

3

Art as Reflection

Art is a reflection of our inner world and cultural roots. Through my paintings, I mirror India’s spirit, colours, and timeless dance traditions.
